Reef building, making a stronger reefs, by genetics

Perhaps there is some hope for the future of the reefs.

IMHO, although the goals are noble, it is another example of human hubris. To think that genetic modification of a few species will save the reefs from our destruction of them is folly. Is not natural selection for this goal, already happening? To me, it’s like trying to modify a bird that doesn’t need trees, in response to deforestation.
