Hello fellow reefers,

I had some questions regarding dosing this 2 part. Currently my alk is 11.3 and my calcium is 425. My calcium went from 445 to 425 from Sunday to Monday. My alk only dropped .2. I looked online and used a dosing calculator and was told to dose reef code A at 231ml. Now I assume I would dose the same amount of reef code B or maybe less once I do testing. I was going to hook up the 2 part up to my Neptune dos, but before I do that I wanted to make sure my calculations was right. Would I be dosing 231ml within a day or is that within a week to get my cal up? Also would that make my alk go up more if my alk is already high as is? My tank size is 60x24x21 and is roughly 130g. I hope someone can help me here so I can figure this out so I can keep my parameters stable.

Retest your calcium. I've yet to use a calcium test kit I trust within ~25

The only way calcium is going to drop that much in 24 ours is if it's either precipitated by other factors, or it's being consumed by a heavy SPS load.

If its being consumed by corals then your alk would be diving - its has to. Which leads me back to thinking it's a test variation.

If you're just consuming a small amount of cal/alk , I honestly think kalk in the ATO (or dripper) is the easiest/best way to go. Plus, it will raise the PH to a degree that corals will grow/thrive better in. Yes, there are drawbacks, but IMO, it's the best and easiest way for stability early on

Yea I was going to retest it tonight. I agree these test kits are hard to trust. Debating if I should do icp testing and compare it with my test kit to see how close it gets. I was looking into kalk and calcium reactor as well. Since I got all these dos might as well put them into use lol.
