In the arena.
Hello, my name is Mike and I am becoming a reef controllerholic. It started with reading @Ranjib 's hundreds of pages of reefpi posts. I would secretly break out a note pad and start sketching my build. Eventually, I starting browsing parts list and putting raspberry pi 3 in my shopping carts before closing the web pages. I even went as far as making posts about my build plans.
Then he whispered in my ear. @KevinRosso . Hey kid, check out this thread. Used Apex Classic for sale, priced to sell. I'll even cover the shipping. Everybody's using them. What are you afraid of?
I started with something simple, setting up the controller and display. Then I move on to something harder, connecting to my Apple Express. That led to Apex Fusion. First on my macbook pro. Then on my ipad, and then to my phone.
I am staring at my pH, temperature, powerheads and amps around the clock. I wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweat, is my pH still rising? Did I put too much kalkwasser in my ATO? I got to know!!!!
I tell my friends and family that I am only doing it to tidy up the cords. But they see right through my rationalizing. Apex Fusion is controlling more that my tank.
It's controlling me.
It there still hope for me or is this just the beginning of the slippery slope? Will this obsession make me miss important events like watching today's football games? When will I know I hit rock bottom?
