whats everyone take on these, and how many different ones are out there, and how do they rate is there, any others than apex and reef angel?

I love my controller and couldn't imagine life without it! LOL!

The only ones I have experience with are the Digital Aquatics and Neptune Brands. (Reefkeeper an Apex)

+1 on Apex. Once I moved to a controller, it seriously felt like a weight off my shoulders, and is the first thing I consider when building new setup.

I have reef keeper and am very happy with it.

I've got Reefkeeper light. It only took 14 years or so to consider investing in it, but definitely a necessity if you want to have a normal life and still keep more than mushrooms and zoas. It's marginally more expensive than all the timers and powerstrips you'd need for lights and dosers alone. I couldn't imagine the rats nest of wiring if I didn't have one actually. Do it, and I'm pretty confident you won't regret it.

My take on a controller, i wouldn't have a tank without it. If your serious about your tank you need one. I have Apex with VDM, WXM, and an extra 8 outlet strip. It's an investment but can you save you tons of money in the long run. You can program it to do just about anything.

thank you for the responses I have a small pond that take alot of my att. in the summer so it would be nice to have something let me know if there a promblem and be able to monitor at a click

I'm trying out a ReefAngel, heard lots of good things about it. I figured why not, especially for the price?! I also share the opinion that I wouldn't run a tank without one, so much easier to keep stable. I've also had an acjr, no problems experienced with it. GL

+1 on the apex, spend the extra money and by full version if you can, if not get the lite. I purchased the lite and thought that was all I ever needed but now I'm adding my DIY LEDs and want to control them w apex and have to add a vdm whereas the full version has the ports built in. Neptune system has thought of everything and easy to program the controls. I leaned the language in 4 hours last night. Just my plug
