Hey guys, What Do you think about Reef Crystals salt? Im thinking on switch. Im using RSCP, the ALK is too high in this salt. Can you show me your reef tank with RC?
Thanks.

I use it and think its just fine.

I've been using it for years. One of the key items, I believe, is to mix around your salt before using it. Different elements of salt settle at different levels while the salt is sitting around.
It will leave residual stains in your mixing container, so it needs to be cleaned out well after each use. I like the elevated elements in it, I don't have to dose as much between wc's.

ALK will also be high in RC. Perhaps use IO and supplement MG and CA.
Not as much! Everytime I mix a new batch ALK is at 14. I try to keep at 10 in my DT. As sson as I do water change alk goes to 12. It makes it go up and down not making it steady as I want to.

Everybody takes a different approach to this hobby so I don't want to argue/disagree with how people do things, but I'm pretty sure those residual stains are normal (not only reef crystals) and won't hurt anything. Randy even has those stains in his mixing container and he's fine with it. For me, I'm not going to be cleaning out my 55 gallon after every other water change.
IMO, as long as you stay on top of your routine maintenance, you'll be all right...just don't become a slave to it. Remember why we all started this to begin with...it was to have fun, right! When it becomes a chore, it's no longer a hobby.

I agree with you.
