Anyone else notice that the Reef Crystals price has been hiked by 60%?

Yep, and Amazon doesn’t carry it anymore. I had a Subscription for it where I’d get it automatically sent every month and they have canceled the last 3 months so I canceled it with Amazon and started a Subscription with PetSmart. But it’s like $20+ more a bucket.

Wow this stinks. Thanks for the heads up. From time to time Amazon will remove items but then add them a few months later.

They announced a price increase last year and a lot of us stocked up. I will probably have to get more during Black Friday sale

Petsmart always has it on sale! I’ve picked up a bunch of buckets with their sale and auto ship for $23 a pop…

I've always bought the box from lfs. Seems like I payed the same amount maybe $10 less 12 years ago. I guess I should shop around.

Yeah, I got a bunch of buckets a couple months back from them but I wonder if they will still have it at that price with the rate hike. I’m doubtful.

Nah I order it online. They have sales all the time.. somebody normally posts about it on here and everyone jumps on it haha!

The petsmart by me woukd have it for 39.99 all the time but noticed it jump to this price. Coincicentally i just tested my water change water and the mag came back at 1050. So charging more for less quality. Not good.

But tropicorium does have it for 55 bucks matt which saves you a few from that price

I was at Petco on Saturday to just browse and they had a 160 gallon bucket of Reef crystals for 100$

Ya the benefit of reef crystals is its wide availability and price. Without that not sure i would use it.

The LFS's around me are pricing this salt at almost the same price as Red Sea's coral pro salt. May as well get that one at this point. Also, they've been carrying alot more of the ASF reef evolution salt than others lately. I want to try that one eventually.

if and or when the orange crud goes north of $60 I’m shopping Red Sea, Tropic Marin or similar…
40yrs + in SW , I have absolutely no brand loyalty whatsoever…
TBH at risk of my already soiled cred, I usually just use the purple top and just level up on the 2pt

Yes, but that has also gone up. Now north of $50 for IO bucket. Crazy.

if so then thats a stupid business decision given the quality of the competition and the fact that a 50g bucket of IO really means 40g-ish (and EVERYONE knows this!!)
…I might be looking at Moonshiners method or whatever and my last bucket of IO, if this is true
