Off and on in various threads I have seen people mention this but since I've noticed this myself, I'll ask the question.

Have you found that Instant Ocean actually works better for your corals than Reef Crystals? I've used them both now and that's what I've found. I don't know if it's cuz the Crystals have such a high amount of calcium (my fresh batches always come out 500+) or if it's something else. Curious about what you all have to say.

Different people use different things but I have found finding a salt that gives you what you want as your base and then modifying things afterwards has worked best for me. I use Accurasea now but when I used Red Sea Salt and their Coral Pro the modified one (Coral Pro) gave me too high results which were harder to get down than to raise from the original.

I have used RC and other salts in various tanks. All have grown corals. Consistency is the key in my opinion and managing your nutrients.

Never noticed a difference between IO and RC on coral growth/coloration. I buy whichever I can get cheapest in bulk. I treat both to achieve my desired Ca/Alk levels before performing water changes.
