I’m looking for a good dosing pump. All the pumps I’ve looked at so far have about a 4 star rating except for the Apex dosing pump which you can buy for an extra $200 with the $800 kit. I’m not looking to spend $800 on a pump, I’m looking to spend about $300 max on a dosing pump. I only need about 2 pumps because I’m going to dose BRS 2 part in the tank and I don’t need any more pumps then that. Thank you!

I'm not quite sure what you want/don't want in a dosing pump, moreso because I don't understand your reference to 4 stars (amazon, BRS, etc?). For example, if reliability is all you want, I can vouch for the BRS 1.1mL/min dosers as probably the least likely to fail with proper maintenance. If you want an intergrated unit, my next vote with reliability in mind would be the GHL 2.1 with a third being the Bubble mag BM-T11. After that, you start moving towards the Kamoer, where I'm not too sure about it's reliability long term (>3 years).

However, what features would you be looking for in addition to reliability? At a certain point, you're paying for features that may/may not be helpful.

I’m not exactly sure what I need for dosing. Really I just wanted a reliable, good quality dosing pump.

I run 2 kamoer x1s and I like them a lot. I just have to remember to re calibrate occassionally.

I run the Jebao dp-4,have for a year now, been a great doser, paid $100 CDN off amazon.

I too am looking for a good reliable dosing pump to dose 2 part and magnesium, I don't have an Apex so their pumps aren't an option. I've been looking around and reading reviews, plus from my personal experience this is at least what to avoid;

Jebao DP-4
This is the pump i currently have and i agree with the huge amount of reviews that it is garbage, if you want precise dosage steer clear of this pump, mine was bad from the day I bought it and only got worse as time went on.

Coral Box Wifi
According to reviews a lot of people are having issues with connecting to wifi so I avoided this pump.

Bubble Magus
When I saw they had a dosing pump I thought this would be a winner as I am very happy with their protein skimmer I have, but was very disappointed to see their dosing pump has bad reviews, people are having issues with the timer/clock, it has been ceasing to work after about a year or so rendering the pump useless.

My search still goes on to find a good reliable and affordable ($300 or less) dosing pump. If I find one that fits the bill I'll let you know.

I've been using the coral box wifi for several months now and it works great. Never had any issues with it connecting to wifi

It seems every dosing pump I look at has both good and bad reviews, over the years I have chosen equipment based on price only to regret it later and wished I had saved a bit longer and bought what I really wanted in the first place, instead of having to replace junk every 12 months.
I'm going to bite the bullet and get a Neptune ApexEL, then later get 1 DOS pump. Better to pay once and cry once over the cost than buy twice and cry twice for having to replace pumps.

I have 8 GHL Dosing pumps have been using them for years now great doser an you can add dosers as you need them. I use them for ATO, AWC dosing of chemicals and feeding.
