Reef Dynamics skimmers with different pump?

Anyone with a reef dynamic INS skimmer running a pump that is not the Sicce or Eheim they came with? I am thinking something along the lines of a Varios 2 or similar in the DC world.

I'm having the same question. Id like to upgrade my ins 180. My impeller bit the dust. I could buy a $300 ehiem. I'd like a DC pump. Any ideas would be great.

For the CS 180 I would look into the tunze 9420 or Sicce 1000 Synra line skimmer pumps.

OP with skimmer do you have?

You can make any needle wheel pump work with the skimmer. You will just need to get the proper plumbing fittings to do the job. I ran Sedra 9000 pump on my old euro reef rs-250 years back.
