reef energy A and B

Seems to work initially but I believe it started causing my nitrates to rise and now most of my SPS are browner than they were. I've stopped using it now and colors seem to be coming back as my nitrates go back down.

It’s funny you should say this, because I’ve been thinking exactly the same and I’m wondering if they’ve changed something in the recipe.

I’m actually in the process of either going back to, reef roids, or possibly mixing some reef roids in with the reef energy (with a RODI top up) to see what happens.

I’ve used Reef Energy for about 2 1/2 years now so it does make me wonder because Red Sea are always developing or changing things

My corals where always pale, started dosing AB and the color came back, took about 2-3 weeks. Got a little cyano, had to balanced out my nitrates and phophates and everything is doing pretty good. Pretty much a game changer for me.

It’s snake oil! It doesn’t work. If you want good coral growth, stock lots of fish and feed heavy. Does a high grade amino acid that’s all you need

Reef Energy AB is a high grade amino acid supplement o_O

I have used reef energy for several years also and this is my first bottle of the new formula. maybe a coincidence, but after about a week of the new bottle of reef energy my teal stag started getting tannish in between the corralites. Another stag also started to brown out. I can't say this is the only change in my tank recently, but it's generally stable on parameters since I have a calcium reactor and an alkatronic keeping things steady. My nitrates are on the low side, but stay pretty steady at between .2 and 1ppm, phosphates in the .05- .08 range. Again this has been steady for quite awhile, so not a change recently that would explain the color shift.

The only other changes to the tank were I changed out a filter cartridge that I run inline between the calcium reactor and the needle valve, and I cut and glued a few frags in the system, but neither of those things have ever caused this reaction in the corals before.

Going to stop the reef energy for now and see what happens.

I’ve used it before but couldn’t really tell
Much difference. However,It did increase my Nitrates and Phospahates. Still up in the air about it. Maybe fish food is More than enough to feed corals.
