Reef Energy AB+ vs Acropower

Any thoughts on AB+ vs Acropower? Any other additives for a mixed reef?

I love acro power but believe ive seen more positive result with A & B

I used Acropower until they released the new AB+. I have seen better results and healthier corals using the AB+. I wouldn’t be without it now. I hated the old A and B as it made my skimmer go wild and I found my nutrients were through the roof too. They seem to have developed a very good product with the new all in one version and not having to refrigerate up to 10 days in a doser is great too.

I thought it was 7 days? Do you actually use A doser? Also, how often do you use it?

I use it 5 days out of 7 roughly and no I don't use a doser. My frag tank is so small I would be putting such small amounts in for the 10 days of dosing it would hardly be worthwhile. Also, the hard pipes inside my dosing containers don't reach right to the bottom of the containers so I would be pouring what my doser couldn't reach down the drain after the 10 days turn around.

I have used both. My tank gets cyano a few days after dosing acropower.

my tank is low on NO3 (<5) so i dose nitrates and aminos.

I use both. I use AP on Monday, weds, fri and AB+ tues, thur,sat and reef roads on sun. I have had massive growth in my lps tank.

I originally tried Reef Energy and the only thing I experienced was red algae on the sandbed. No obvious coral growth. I switched to Brightwells CoralAminos (per WWC) and my corals bloomed and instead of through doser I add a capful to my ATO weekly (roughly 3-5 gals of RO water)

I use both. Acropower for the sps dominated tank and energy for lps tank

Yup they do have side effects of bubble and hair algae
