The fifty-eight-year-old company that brought you Instant Ocean and Reef Crystals have released a new, third salt called Reef Evolution. Made in collaboration with Dr. Tims Aquatics, Reef Evolution is a reef recipe synthetic salt that also contains vitamins, amino acids, and food for beneficial bacteria. Aminos are the hot additive in salts right now…

Hmmm I think I may give this a whirl. I am just starting out so this would be a completely new system starting with this product which I plan to heavy document and rcord my findings anyway, and it could benefit the community. Is it being distributed here yet? Im not seeig it anywhere.

I may give this a try but I'm still waiting to see a price tag first

Is anyone using this yet? If so any feedback positive or negative?
My LFS had the bucket for about $60

Don’t mean to resurrect this thread but just got a batch of Reef Evolution salt that also tested 10.2 dKh. In my books this product is garbage because they claim 7.7 - 8.3 on the bucket.

Crap, I can't get it to dissolve fully. I don't know if I should add it as is? I have to test further, KH okay, maybe calcium is too high, dunno.

Yeah that's about what I tested but I agree it is crap because it won't dissolve fully. I'm going to continue testing it to see what else might be wrong with it

Just figured it all out. My mixing container this time around is a HUGE BACTERIAL BLOOM. Salt mix smells like what biopellets smell like, looks like milk lol. Prebiotic salt has bacteria food in it, now, the question is where did NO3 and PO4 come from to complete this issue. I am steering clear from this salt I think. I don’t believe changing out water in my tank with bacterial bloom water is smart at all.
