Reef Flux HD

I have been having a bit of hair algae recently and saw something called Reef Flux HD and RX. Anybody know if it’s reliable and if so, a dosing schedule? TIA :)
I’ve used it a couple times for bryopsis and it took care of it. I also had a small amount of gha which it cleared out as well. Bryopsis was much quicker and gha took a couple of weeks. You dose the recommended amount for the water volume of your tank. Remove activated charcoal and turn off your protein skimmer for the first 3 days. After 3 weeks do a 30% water change and return activated charcoal.

Ok, thank you. :D

This stuff is an alternative and often not a solution and even can cause some issues with coral. I would place rock in a container of tank water and pull off as much as you can by hand and scrub the rest with a firm toothbrush and some 3% hydrogen peroxide.
Return to tank, reduce white light intensity and number of hours of white lighting and add some snails such as :
Astrea
cerith
turbo grazer
trochus

A Pencil urchin

8-10 Caribbean blue leg hermits

Are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet ?
What is your phosphate level?
Is tank at or near a window?

Please post pics of the algae you mention under white light intensity

I am not sure if my RODI water is tap or faucet bc I get it from my LFS

My phos is at 0.25ppm

My tank is not near a window

I am currently blacking out my tank because of Dino’s so I cannot post a pic under white light

I cannot take my rock out of the tank as it is all glued together bc the tank was originally for a frogfish

Do the blackout and add the cleaner crew mentioned. Your phos should be between .05 -.1.
Yours is 2.5X that and needs to come down and is a contributor to this issue

I've used reeffux for bryopsis & it was very effective but the die off caused all kinds of nutrient spikes & general upset with SPS.
LP's seemed unaffected but I did lose a couple of acro's after treatment.
I'd view it as very much a last case resort

Kills most algae, even bubble when used at high doses. No detrimental effects to coral or anything else, at least if it’s an animal.
