Just opened up a brand new bottle of foundation a and the whole opening of the bottle was a solid white substance. I was able to break it off into the bottle, but I'm not sure if this bottle is safe to use?

Do these come with a expiration date?

Sounds like it was opened before you bought it.

Not expired and the seal was not broken on the bottle. I read that this stuff can precipitate out. Just wondering if the liquid I can get to will do anything or if the bottle is useless now.

If it was sealed and within expiration date as you say, it's probably fine.

This sounds more like a „drying out issue“ due to a not fully sealed bottle, than precipitation.

I don‘t see an issue if you shake it well and then use it. Potency could be a little bit higher than initially, as a little part of the water included has evaporated , but the Ca-Chloride is still fully there.

shaking the bottle wont do anything, whatever is a solid now is like a rock inside the bottle.

Ok. That’s indeed not how it should be then.
Depending on the size of your rock in the bottle I would then even decide to not use and return as complaint, as ....
- you don’t know about the potency if the solution (it is less potent than stated in the instructions)
- there might be an inpurity in the bottle that caused the rock issue.

In all honesty, returning isn't going to be an option. The bottle was purchased a while ago and sat around until I finally decided to get a doser. While it was stored properly temp wise, maybe it was bad to begin with
I'll order a new bottle and I'll take cut this bottle in half and try and take a picture of it and report back.
