I have searched myself crazy - the dosing table on the box for the reef foundation products gives you a recommended dose based upon your testing results. Is the recommended dose a weekly or daily suggested amount

Here's the link to the instructions and the specific excerpts. Start weekly until you have enough data to estimate a daily usage. But can stay weekly.

Basically what your trying to do is maintain the stability and levels of the foundation elements.

So ideally you add these daily, for example with an auto doser, according to daily usage, and this will keep the levels stable for you. You could also do it manually but it will be a lot harder.

So test you water on day 1, don’t add any foundation elements, then maybe test on day 4 (or whatever you choose) and then see how much of each element has been used up. Then by simple division you have your daily usage to add each day.

Alternatively you could dose once a week by just adjusting the levels weekly, but this is less desirable as over the week levels will drop, and hence the stability is not as good.

So I think in answer to your question, the amounts are either daily or weekly depending on how much your system is using.

I hope this helps?

The instructions posted above are your best bet to get a good base line. Continue to test and make small adjustments as needed. Never make drastic changes, build up slowly. I previously dosed 2 part from BRS before switching to Red Sea's program so I used that as my base and made adjustments from there. It really is going to depend on what you have in your tank, fish only? Corals? And what equipment/salt/water change schedule you are using. All these factors will effect your levels and the same dose for one person with the same size tank may give different results for someone else. Took me 3 weeks before I got a good consistent reading, doing weekly 10% water changes.

This is a new 210 gallon mixed reef. We have been testing regularly and all parameters were good. We got a killer deal on some large plate corals, so I knew calcium consumption would probably increase. (Life did happen and Christmas distracted me and I didn't test for 2 weeks)
Calcium is now at 380 so I want to start supplenting. According to the chart on back of bottle recommended supplement amount for mixed reef testing 380 is 35ml/25 gallons. Figuring conservative tank+sump-LR= 200 gallon So 35×8=280 ml Here's where I get lost. Wow that is alot of supplement over half this bottle, maybe I am doing something wrong, maybe not and this bottle is just not intended for larger tanks.....either way I have decided to dose daily but the 280 ml is a recommended dose for the week? So divide by 7 and start there or. ????? Surely the 280 ml is not a recommended daily dose?!?
To prevent stress Don't increase over 20 PPM in a day so You shouldn't go over 10ml/25 gallons per day so up to 80ml per day supplement maximum in a 200 gallon system?
I am starting to get frustrated because I understand everything I think and spent a ton of time researching but can't figure out the supplement dosing chart on bottle because nothing explains if they're talking about a daily amount or a weekly amount

In the instructions they also give you max dose per day. Don't dose all at once to build back up. It may take some time at or below max daily dose to get to your targets.
