I'm just wondering which has the least amount of nutrient impact on the system you all have found? I feed NLS pellets and have been for week over a year with great results. But recently I obtained some Frenzy and my fish are nuts about it.

The only thing that worries me is the possible level of nutrient that it "may" give off. But I want to say that I read somewhere food such as frenzy had a lot less nutrient give off than processed foods such as pellets?

Add to that, that some animals don't take too pellets easily. I am also wondering about the effects such as color, nutritional value being comparable to the pellets, and the like.

I'm a sps grower, so if course, the less byproduct going into the tank, the better. I also feed nori just to give full background to what I feed. I also can get my hands on the fish and herbi frenzy and I have approx 18 fish in my system.

Any information or tips is as always, most appreciated..

IMO pellets are an unnatural food source. Fish do not eat dry foods in the wild :) The closer we can get to whats natural for them the better off they'll be. I feed my fish nothing but meaty, HUFA foods. Reef Frenzy, Nutramar Ova, Rods Complete. As for excess nutrients I over skim and regular water changes as a way to remove.

Doesn't help honestly. We are doing something unnatural at the core by sticking them in a tank, which is no where near the area they live.

I skim heavily and perform water changes also, but, it goes without saying, the less you put in, the less you have to remove or deal with. I have had fantastic results with pellets to be honest, but, if I can come up with a natural food that they like and it performs, without all the hassle of having a million things in my freezer (marriage and companionship here is to be considered also) or fridge, then I would. I'm interested in someone that has done "both" and has a view of impact on water quality.

Both are good foods though..

I guess I'm going to have to do the old "drop some in water", test and find out procedure.

I just thought someone before me would have done this already.. Lol, that's what I get for being lax and not doing it myself..
