I just put a reef glass nano in my tank and I am having trouble tuning it. I have a tetra 20 air pump and the Bubble height is extremely inconsistent. The height will goes up and inch and one second later drop an inch and it keeps cycling through the go high then drop every second or two and I can’t tune it because of its inconsistency so any ideas?

I just barley open the air way and I get great results

Usually, the behavior you are describing (inconsistent bubble level, inconsistent cycle, etc.) is related with obstruction of the drain line. Clean the elbow (use a toothpick or similar object), check drain tubing, make sure that the end of the tubing in the waste bottle is not submerged. Air must be able to flow freely thru the drain line at all times.
