Hi, I need a little advice on what to do in this situation that has come about.
I ordered 4 acros from another reefer last week. I paid a pretty penny for these four frags and shipping was included. So as I'm waiting yesterday for the package to arrive noon comes and goes with no arrival. By then I had to go to work so I figured I would hit up the UPS guy at my shop and see if the box was on his truck( the tracking said it was out for delivery and I live in a fairly small town). This guy knows me between my own coral shipping and receiving and my business as well.
Luckily I saw him around 4pm and got the box from him. I went home and started to drip acclimate the acros. I noticed right away that one of them was in bad shape and RTNing, the other three looked ok but the water was only 67f and there was a cold pack in the box.
I put the others in my tank after acclimating and 2 of the 3 rtn in the next few hours. I notified the seller about the first one right away and he said he would replace it IF I bought more corals or paid for shipping the one piece. He told me that UPS didn't offer morning delivery in my area but I know that's not true because I get deliveries 3-4 times a month before noon.
Later ,I notified him of the other 2 deaths. That was over 24 hrs ago, with no response.
What should I do with this situation? If it were only a few hundred dollars I might just let it be and move on, but it's over 5 bills for one frag at this point. I've had to replace corals before and refund $$ being the seller. As far as I'm concerned its a risk that the seller assumes. Am I wrong?
Thanks for any input
