Ok so I have my heater plugged in to outlet #2 on my pc4 it shows that my outlet is off on the controller but my heater is still on. When I plug in my skimmer in the same outlet it will not generate any power... already had my tank get up to 92 a week ago thought I must have plugged my heater into the socket I have fan designated for but that was not the case I lost a bunch of corals I'm totally lost !!!

I would do an interrupted update with your SID and reconfigure your RK Completely.

Then move your heater to another port. I also run ehiem Jäger heaters since they have a built in thermostat to protect against controller malfunctions such as this.

I never have done update before just programmed it through the controller would the heater have something to do with it or the relay in the pc4 I was going to program a different outlet but now I'm walking on egg shells I just don't think an update would effect this issue

Read the last sentence of my post it's very important.

Doing a interrupted update is a sure fire way to clear any programming out of the units. It will delete all the programming you have so make sure to have the time to reprogram the unit in its entirety before starting.

Sometimes controllers need to be drop kicked back to default in my experience.

MAKE SURE YOU ONLY UPDATE ONE MODULE AT A TIME. ONE PC4 WITH NOTHING ELSE PLUGGED IN. ONE HEAD UNIT.....ETC.

Ok thanks but I still don't understand how I can unplug the heater and plug my skimmer in the same socket and the skimmer will not turn on

If the heater is getting power on the socket the sockets hot.

I don't know why your skimmer won't turn on on the same port when it's plugged into it. Since I don't have your unit in front of me it's impossible to diagnose the exact problem. Moving your heater can create programming conflicts between the 2 ports.

The simplest thing to do to clear out any bad programming is to follow the interrupted update procedure on all of the modules individually and reprogram the unit.

After that you can diagnose a bad port if port 2 is still acting hinky. Plug your heater into another port when your reprogram the system.

Reprogramming is totally unnecessary. What wattage is your heater? It sounds like you may have a burned out triac on that PC4 channel.

That's what I thought it is a 1000 watt heater I programmed my skimmer in the same outlet and works fine I programmed the heater in outlet #4

A 1,000 watt heater is too big for a PC4 outlet, even outlet 1 or 4. What you need is either a PC1 or an Expansion socket. Both of those can handle 15amps. A 1,000 watt heater will draw about 8.4 amps and outlets 1 and 4 are rated for 8amps.
