I've never had an aquarium controller and I was looking at the RKL basic. Will this be compatible with a kessil a160? Thanks!

If the kessil a160 is 0-10 volt controllable you can use the ALC module with the RKL to control it. Just remember there is a 4 module limit with the RKL. Each PC4 counts as a module and with a bare minimum system it has one module a PC4 with it already. Which RKL system were you considering?

If you're wanting to go with DA, I would recommend the RKE. I ran into a road block with the 4 module limit and had to purchase a new head unit. JMO

The RKL can be upgraded with the RKE or Archon head unit when you are ready. I personally would update to the Archon when you do.

So I would need the base unit and the alc module right? I've heard about the archon. Is that a separate system or does it have to work with the ReefKeeper?

That's what I did.

Yes, you will need a RKL system and an ALC module. I don't know of any of the systems coming with the ALC module.

The Archon can use the same modules as the RKL/RKE with the exception of the NET and RD1 modules. The RKL/RKE he'd units will not work at this time but DA plans on firmware to make them into a remote display on the Archon. The NET is not needed as the Archon is already web based. SLX module not needed it is built into the Archon head unit along with 4 0-10 volt outputs, 2 PWM outputs and 4 switch inputs. Two of the 4 0-10v outputs are the same connectors as the APC module and will hook to the DCI module. The SLX will work with the Archon if you need moe pH or ORP inputs.
