Ok I'm picking up a used reef keeper lite tomorrow and I know it has the unit and two probe and im guessing 2 power strips. He said it controls 8 plugs

Can someone help me set it up. Here is what I want it to do.

First how do I reset it?

I want to control my leds I have 2 plugs one for whites and blues I run my blue lights from 12pm to 10pm and I run my whites from 2pm to 9 pm

I want to control my heater I have it set about 78.0 also do I just turn my heater all the way up and let the controller control it? It just turn it up a hair higher than it is now?

I want to control a hob filter and 2 circulation pumps but I want to be able to turn them off easily for water changes and maybe during feeding

I also run a ato it is a diy style 12v relay deal so it has a extension cord and a ac adapter. This is only until I can buy a module and float switches. But until then I want to plug them in as well and will I be able to shut them off easily during water changes?

That's about it for now. I have a sump with a light and return pump but I will wait on adding them to it for now

If anyone can explain how to do any of this thanks in advance

You can "reset" it by plugging it into your computer and going to their site and following the steps they have to update each module.

It will do everything you are wanting it to do. There will be a head unit that will plug into a PC4 (4 outlets) then a short cord will connect that PC4 (PC41) to the next PC4 (PC42)

You need to plug in the items you are wanting to control into the PC4's and then select the outlet you want to adjust via the head unit.

Lets say on PC41 you want your heater, white LEDs, blue LEDs, and return pump.

You will hit your menu button and then select modules. Select the first PC4 and then outlet 1 will be your heater.

You will want to drop down to function and select heater from that menu. It will ask what temp you want it set on. Set your temp and your good :)

Repeat the steps with your lights and set the time you want them on and off

Repeat for each item you plug into the outlets.

One issue I had with setting my heater was that the temp probe was in a high flow spot and the temp would jump around a little. Instead of setting it as a "heater" I had to select "controller" from the drop down menu and then I was able to set a hysteresis to keep it from kicking the heater on and off so often. I doubt you will need to do this but if you run into a problem there may be a way around it by using another function.

Also to turn your unit into standby mode you hit back and then select.

To answer the question about the heater. I used a heater that was just on and off so I would think you could just turn it up all the way and you should be fine.

Ok them temp sensor was reading 77 and my glass thermo and digital thermo were reading 79 so I calibrated it to my digital thermo did I do this right?

Ive got my lights set how I want
my 2 cir pumps and hob filter set to on and off for 30min in standby

I've got my two plugs for my ato set to on and off for 30 in standby

Heater set point at 78.0

How do I set a alarm to go off if the temp gets low to 76 or high to 80?

How

I have never set an alarm on the RKL so I will be of no help.

It sounds like you did it correctly.

One thing that may be different from what you are thinking. The standby delay when setting a mode will keep that port off for the additional amount of time you have specified.

So if you want to hit standby and have your pumps turn on in 30 minutes then you need to set your standby to 30 minutes and your standby delay for 0. The exception to this is if you want one thing to come on before another. For example if you want your return pump to run for 10 minutes before your skimmer kicks back on you would have your skimmer set to a standby delay for 10 minutes.

Back to the heater. I leave my display set to where I have a constant reading of my temp. For over a year it has been pretty spot on.

Hopefully someone else can chime in about how to set an alarm for you.

Anyone know if you can mount two float switches into one digital aquatic float switch bracket?

You will have to do some fabrication but I don't see why not.

The pic on brs shows two holes in the bracket

I am ordering a brs brand ph probe. What do I need to calibrate it

You will want two different levels of calibration fluid. I believe there are three readily available 4, 7, and 10. I think most people prefer to use the 7 and 10 because its closer to what we are testing in the hobby.

Just get two of them and tell your probe which you have when calibrating it.

You will calibrate with the low first and tell the unit what calibration fluid is. It says to do this for 5 minutes or so. I left the probe in the fluid for about an hour because it took that long for the number to become stable. It, in my opinion, was dialed in on the correct PH at that point.

Anyways do the first and then rinse the probe off in DI water (twice) to make sure there isn't any of the previous fluid on it then use the second fluid.

Does anyone know how to turn standby mode off, as in if I turn it on for water changes and want to turn it all back on if I get done sooner

Hit back and it will exit your standby mode. Things will still have the delay you have set but standby will be off.
