I am fixing to order this unit from marine depot for 199. I want to use it for a ato also. Does this unit require to have the sl1 to operate float switches for a ato? I was also wondering if I should order the single float switch or dual? Will the dual floats give me a safety cushion if one malfunctions? How reliable are the float switches from digital aquatics ?

Thanks,

Wesley

Yes the float switches plug into the SL1. I use one switch to turn the pump on and another to turn it off. There's several different things you can do with the second. I use their float switches and I haven't had any problems yet. I've only had it running for about a month though.

i use DA float switch with the SLI and RKL. i just ube one but really should do two.

Hello wrpeach33,

I use the RKE system with the SL-1 module to opperate an auto top off stystem. I currently only run 1 switch for top off, but two would certainly be a good security measure. I use the second port for a switch that is on my tank, that when it is floated, will shut off my return pump and send me an email letting me know my display is about to overflow. It has actually saved me a couple of times.
