BRS has the Reef Keeper Lite on sale for $90 with free shipping. Is it worth getting for a person looking to into the controller world?

Yes it is a great product to start off your controller experience. Also go to there site and check out all there products including the Archon controller.

Is the RKL really as easy to set up and add to as the videos claim?

What would need to be added in order to monitor through wifi? Can a heater with a digital thermostat be used with it? Would you just turn the digital thermostat all the way up?

$90 is a great deal but will I be happy with it compared to say a apex jr?

the RKL is great and yes it is as simple to operate and yes you will be happy with it.
it is extremely expandable with up to 4 modules (2 pb4s 8 outlets and two modules, salinity, ph once you have out grown it all you have to do is upgrade to the RKE head unit and keep adding modules of your choice or just the Archon head which is compatable with any of the modules.
I have all of the products running on my tanks and the ease of its use from the rkl to the rke with net to 3 Archons.
support is great and updates are always occurring with better things on a regular basis.
