Reef Life Aquariums

They just opened last week. I know the owner. He is a good guy, but I dont know much about his business yet. He was working at a different store and decided he wanted to do his own thing so started a store. I've been meaning to get out there and check it out.

if you don't mind me asking, which store was he working at? Was it in the B'ham area? And if you don't feel like divulging, I plan on making a trip this weekend. I've been wanting a blue tang and they have one listed on their website for $38, which in my opinion is a good deal.

Sounds good man. A guy seems interested in my old 180 stand that I have posted on craigslist. I told him I would meet him in B'ham if it helps. I've got a gift certificate to aquarium imports I need to use, and I want to check out the new shop as well. So I figured I could kill two birds with one stone, and go ahead and blow the $ I got for the stand.

Yeah somebody said Fultondale in the thread about the running track the other day but the link they included went to this place. Wish it was Fultondale. I would rather poke my eyes out with tooth picks than tool around 280

Seemed things fell through in fultondale and so he went to 280.

He worked at fantasies and I personally will shop at his store long before I spend a cent in fantasies. Jim(owner of fantasies) cares nothing for the animals. He is out for a dollar and doesn't care what it takes. All of his current employees are very very new to the hobby and need to read about what the different types of coral are.

Luke cares for the animals. I used to work at fantasies and left for good reason. Luke was the manager there and a really down to earth guy.

Likes store is still new but please help him get going by shopping with him.

I can also answer some questions about the local stores if you want to pm me.

yeah, luke is a good guy. I went by his store today and it is really coming along. He has got some corals in and quite a few fish. he told me he changed from fultondale to 280 because of fultondale taking forever to approve his business. too bad fultodale would have been nice. Its a bit hard to find the store. Its just past the cheverolet dealer on the left behind another shopping center at the end of the strip. He still has a few tanks to set up and I hope his selection of SPS grows as no retail location in Bham carry anything really. It was nice to meet you today toytek

Do you know what his store hours are? I want to go by there but don't wanna make the trip for him to be closed.

My wife and I stopped in yesterday and picked up a good looking torch coral. Luke was a nice dude, the other guy/owner was really nice as well. Hopefully they'll stay involved with the reef community and encourage a proper club. That's something the other folks aren't doing.

Luke is the owner.

I went yesterday but I was very dissapointed. Not enough lighting. Lps were not healthy. Doubt ill go back anytime soon

I stopped by today. Shop is nice but not complete yet. I would have to agree that they need some more light over the frag tank. Most of the corals looked healthy but not happy given the amount of light. I almost bought a tank, but am holding off a bit but the price was right. Hopefully they do well as I was not happy with the first place I went in Huntsville.

It was good to meet you too, Chameleon.
The store looks promising once it is completed. Will definitely be giving Luke the majority of my business.

We stopped by there today, hours during the week open at 10am, they are just setting up the store, they said the grand opening wouldn't be till march, I didn't see any problem with the lighting, looks like they are all led stunner strips, pretty cool. I got rid of the metal halides a few years ago, went to t-5s, just started the up grade to leds myself, power bill getting a little to high. reef life's tanks, looked clean, no aptasia like a few other stores. I am planning to go back for the opening, and spending a few dollers
