Hello Guys, Im new to the hobby and been working on my 40 gallon breeder Reef Tank, Im currently looking at lights, I want to start off with soft corals and eventually work my way up, I managed to pick out 2 lights and want your opinion.
First choice is Current usa orbit marine ic pro led
Second choice is 2 kessil tuna A160WE

No even close orbit marine , i got one of those and changed for my kessil 360 WE,big difference in everything

Hi, I have a 40 gallon breeder Reef Tank only have LPS corals and some softies. I use two AI Prime HD lights and I'm very happy with the output of these lights.

would you mind posting a picture for my to see , more of tank lighting lol

I'm still voting kessil, I think they look better but that's just my opinion. I'd suggest trying to see them in person at a LFS. The prime and kessils both will grow coral fine.

thank you for helping me, I want a system I eventually can grow with when i decide to get a bigger tank lol

Not to change your vote parameters or anything, but I would also at least consider the AI Prime HD. Go to the Kessil website and the AI website and compare the two lights for spectrum, coverage, and depth penetration. I think you will see the Prime HD is a better light.

I don't think the OP can go wrong with AI or kessil. I can't stand how hydra or primes look compared to kessils and I don't think it's arguable about spectrum. Kessils nailed it without having to adjust multiple colors. Seeing them in person would be a plus, you might like the prime better.

Take a look for yourself and decide what YOU like. With both the Kessil and the AI you'll be able to grow softies, LPS and SPS so future-proof your lighting now instead of buying the cheapest or most affordable and having to buy a totally new lighting setup in a few years.
I can't speak for Kessil's as I don't own or use them but I know a lot who do and they like them. I can speak to the AI Prime HD's as I use 2 on my tank and have fish as well as all 3 types of coral and everything is fine and growing. I think either way you'll be happy with the results from both brands.

I have a 40 Breeder and use a pair of Kessil A360WE's. However if you are going to spend the money get the AP700 right away, it'll cover your 40 breeder for pretty much any coral you'll want to get, and its WIFI controllable to do cloud cover, storms, and custom colors

A lot of the lights mentioned above will work well for your tank. I personally love the Kessil’s shimmer. Some don’t care for it but I personally think it replicates the natural reef better than any other light on the market (besides halides).

personally I would gear towards two a360s or an ap700. I never got the kessil hype until I saw several booths using them in person at macna last year. From there I started looking into them and im pretty set on an ap700 for my 36 inch tank, coming from an Elos Planet 2. The kessils just make the overall appearance of the tank look so much better imo, the shimmer is no joke. No disco ball effect like Radions.
