Ok. Which one of the above would you go with and why? Trying to decide which one I want. Thanks.

From what I've read the Reef Link will currently control Ecotech's Radion lights and soon their Vortech pumps. They may have other stuff in the works, but they stay pretty tight lipped.

It depends on what other equipment you want to control and how many Ecotech products you own. What equipment are you considering controlling with the wxm?

I have the apex neptune already. My power bar is full so I am not sure if I would need to order another one of them in addition to the wxm module. I am also concerned about the programming on it. I have a radion gen 2 and three mp10 on my 60 cube I want to control.

If you have the time, it may be wise to see how the Reef Link flushes out. The product is so new it is really hard to tell what type of capabilities it will have. Stability is also an important factor to me.

I spoke with Ecotech when I got picked for the Beta. The gentleman on the phone talked me out of paying for the Beta unit because I had the WXM module already. He told me that the WXM module will do everything their Reeflink will do. I actually commended him for not selling me something I did not need.

All the information us Apex owners need to know^ thank you!

All good comments in above statements.
If you already have a APEX running I would say don't but if not the reef link is so much better.
I had mine RL just updated today and soon the pumps will be on there, it's just a matter of a week of 4.
Also with the apex you'll be limited with only 4 pumps on the RL you got a lot more plus you can do them in groups, that counts for the lights too.
Also we hooked up the Pro dropcam on the RL that pairs again with ESL and you can link them to your home page of R2R as a signature.
Not to mention when Ecotech will come down on a Reef Controller, even that is just a matter of time.
I run the RL now for 4 months and it's just a click of the button to load it up.

Hi Diesel,

Thanks for the feedback on the ReefLink. Was any programming involved or was it basically plug and play and then menu driven?

I have the apex now but not the wxm module or the reef link so I would have to buy one or the other anyway. I am still trying to decide if I should get either. I do not change my lighting schedule much at all. I have three mp10 on my 60 cube and I am running the nutrient transport mode. Not sure what I am going to do but I am in no hurry so that is good.

I will wait untill they introduce upgraded one that will controll mp's.

Plug and play for most part after you linked it to your WIFI and downloaded the ESL.

Will be upgraded by a firmware.
No need for a new RL.

Personally, I'm thinking about selling my WXM module and switching to the Reeflink. I HATE the way you have to program your Vortech's. Making all the profiles and putting the programming into the flipping outlet for the different times of days, anti sync, flow, etc. There HAS to be an easier way for them to do it. Buttons or something with a bar that slides up and down for the percentage of flow from the Vortech. The need to rethink it.

I would go with the WXM module since you don't have their lights. I may be wrong since I'm a little new to owning and Apex but you shouldn't have to plug the Vortechs into the PB's to control them since it's the wireless signal that's doing the communicating.

That is correct, you can run them from a in depended outlet.
The WXM module gives you some complicated schedules.

Say what.............??

With the reeflink you got sliders and you can setup all the % for each mode with a click on the mouse.
Ecotech Marine is already hard at work on ReefLink control of Vortech pumps

Now the fusion for Apex will have a better control schedule.

Now that my tank is used by Ecotech for their marketing it's a no-brainer for me.
Currently I'm running the APEX as controller for all but my lights, although my PRO's controlling the night mode.
As soon the vortech firmware will be uploaded my 5 mp40 pumps will run over the Reeflink.

It would be nice if Ecotech made the Reef Link a full blown controller, which would allow me to control everything that I currently use my Apex to control. (Heaters, Return Pump, Skimmer, GFO, Sump Light, Etc).

They have probably considered it, but then they would be stepping on some toes. It seems as though they have teamed up with a few controller manufacturers.

I have no doubt that they will probably move that direction sooner or later.
