Hey guys I was away for two weeks with someone taking care of my tank and my reefmat went down about the second day away , everything was fine but it won’t advance and keeps sending errors even when I check and make sure it’s rolling proper, also the buttons aren’t making it advance or rewind either not sure what happend it’s like it’s locked and won’t spin… very frustrating has anyone els had this problem?

either felt roll is restricted or gear may have debris such as snails

Check and clean the sensor

Have you been able to troubleshoot to see if there is an obstruction? Perhaps a roller is bound, or a connection isn't properly seated, something isn't aligned, etc...
Can’t find any problems with set up but the motor won’t even try to spin when I click auto advance it’s like the one that pulls in the fleece is jammed stuck
Check and clean the sensor

Seems like the gear that pulls in does not move at all when I’ve taken it off I can’t spin it like its seazed
Oh no. Contact manufacturer and also search you tube for tips

I am having the same exact issue my motor is seized up emailed Red Sea waiting to hear how they will deal with it in the mean time I am advancing the roll by hand every day twice a day.

I have seen at least a handful of reports of new drive units being sent out on the Red Sea facebook group. I have also seen a lot of issue with not 'seating' the rolling portions correctly and then not 'locking' the tabs down once the rolling piece is in place the right way, causing the teeth not to grab correctly. It may be worth removing the drum where the used roll gets spooled up and manually advancing the drive motor, if the teeth on the unit move then the drum was not seated correctly.

Here is a quick video on how you can see if your motor is working at least

Goodluck. they give you one response a day and drag things out where they could be easily compiled into one email. Their support used to be fantastic, but has since fallen off a cliff.

For me, I had a bad motor, they swapped it. New motor was working, but I still had a bad sensor and had to wait for them to send that out. Everything had been working fine since. You can test the sensor by bridging the prongs together with a paperclip, not sure how you tell if it's working since the motor wont move. Maybe the app shows that the sensor is being triggered and the roll should be advancing? Either way, worth the quick test or its weeks of waiting on a sensor with the once a day emails.

Mine failed last night. sensor is cleaned and not moving at all. Emailed Red Sea and their auto reply said 24 hours to get back to me. We will see, hopefully they fix.
