Reef Oct VarioS 4 Pump

Hi all,

I hope this makes sense. My Apex monitors the power of my return pumo (ReeF Oct VarioS 4), It normally reported it operating at 38 Watts. two days ago the alarm went off since the return pump started operating at 25W. The controllers are at the same speed as always, no change there.

I cleaned up the pump thinking that maybe it had some build up stuff blocking it. Surprisingly, it was pretty clean after 1 year of operation.

Any idea? is the pump dying?

does it appear to have less flow? It should if the power reading is accurate. maybe some snail in the pipe? could have crawled in from the return pipe exit.

yes, less flow as far as I can tell.

ohhh never thought about some critter in the tube... thanks I'll check
