I am looking for skimmers to start a new build and looking for some input on the reef octo 110. Looking at the reviews on brs it seems to be great except all the newer reviews ( newest was 2018) cite loud noise levels and unbalanced design with a danger of tipping.

I was hoping somebody who uses one could weigh in on these factors for me to help me reach a well informed decision. My current reef octo on a 75g is a work horse so I want to trust the brand but just wondering

No louder than any other reef oct of similar size. If you’re talking 110 int it’s not easy to knock over. If you’re talking 110 ss it’s surely easier to tip over but not to the point where it’s a reasonable consideration.
Great skimmer, good choice. Excellent bang for buck.

Thanks @theMeat. I was thinking the 110 int for sure, just didn't want to spend the cash on something that would be to loud in the dining room area. Its my plan for a clown and anemone tank to let Vincenza and Oscar get comfortable enough to start a family.
