Reef Octo LR-150 = chaeto death every time....

I just cant keep this stuff alive... nitrates in the ~8ppm range...
reverse schedule lighting. First batch I probably overcooked so I was much more conservative with lighting this time having it set ~ 50%....
It was completely full of fresh chaeto a month ago. I'm thinking of just dumping it and installing a proper refugium. Tank been up for a year and seems happy

I could build a 60L tank to fit in the same space......

Any thoughts what I could be doing wrong?

they grow really fast, and could be consuming the nutrients then starving. doesn't really matter what tank their in, its mainly about lighting, nutrients and flow.
