Thought I would post a pic of my new tank from this angle. It shows the overflow and general design of the tank. I was interested in a Waterbox, but none in stock. For me, this is my free time of the year. I work hard from Spring thru fall. But get to catch up on things this time of year. So after some research I settled on the RO T-Lux 90. 48 gallon display.

The cabinet is very nice, great finish. I like the plastic/composite hinges. My RS hinges are rusty and not smooth after a year. It's taller then my RS cabinets. Makes maintenance a little more challenging for us shorter guys. But viewing height is good.

This was a very easy tank to set up. I may add equipment as I go, but right now I'm using the RO Classic 150 and AQ3000 return pump that came with the tank. I did install a Tunze 3155 ATO instead of using the RO gravity feed ATO with float. I'm sure the RO ATO would work fine, but I'm familiar with the 3155.

I wish instructions that come with these set ups were a little more detailed. They were greatly lacking. If you have some experience it's not that big of a deal, but come on. This was an $1800 tank, put some effort into the assy instructions.

When I put the sump divider in I chose to silicone it in an effort to enhance the seal. If you look in the pic, it's not straight. I swear I put it in straight?? LOL, maybe not.

Even though I know some are not fans of using livestock to cycle, I cycled the tank with 3 skunk shrimp and Dr Tims. And I added a gallon of Fritz Zyme 9 over the first week. The tank measured zero ammonia after the first week with a minimum of ammonia during the cycle. This is the 5th tank I've cycled in this fashion and I have not lost a life yet.

The tank now has a Pink Margin Fairy Wrasse and a Royal Gamma recently delivered from LA. Both look healthy and ate the first day. I'll slowly add some stock and some Fritz turbo start along the way.

Overall, very happy with the RO Lux T90!!

Thanks! I used an LED Maxspect Razor for lighting which is a new light for me. Still working on programming but so far so good.

I put a Maxspect Gyre 330 in this tank and now I know what people like about this pump. I thought I might need 2 but I'm only running the one pump at 30% now. You can see the gyre effect and it's quite powerful and very quiet.

I was soo impressed with this pump I bought a 350 and put that into my 425xl. We'll see but the gyre may go into all of my tanks! I like it that much.

I have to say, I really love the set up. Tank has been great, cabinet is very nice. The supplied return pump and skimmer are working great. I had a little ugly stage but I think I'm through that now. Just have some easy corals and the fish are doing great. Probably over stocked, but I can't help it.

That looks really good. How is the noise? How much noise do you get from the supplied skimmer and pump? What about the overflow? How does it compare to your RS tanks?

When I first set it up there was some noise from the overflow. Once tuned though, very quiet. The included return pump and skimmer work great. I have DC in my other tanks so was a little skeptical about the performance of these. But both work great with minimal noise. This tank is in my bedroom and I'm sensitive to noise.

Would love an update on your experience with this tank. I got out 3 -4 years ago and was thinking of jumping in again. Unfortunately I sold everything as I didn’t want my reefer 525 and IM Nuvo 30L to sit dry. Didn’t think I’d be considering getting back in this soon.

HI Griff, The tank has been great. I have been battling dino's but I can't blame the tank for that.

I have 3-Red Sea tanks and still think the cabinet is better on the RO tank. The doors swing wider and all of the hardware still works fine. All of the RS tanks have issues with the spring loaded closers.

I'm still using the return pump that came with the set up. And, still have all of the original equipment running fine. The Gyre pump needs cleaning every 2-3 weeks to keep it running optimally. The only thing I could ask for is a different way of holding the filter sock and also 2 socks instead of one. Not a big deal but kind of hard to change the sock. Otherwise very happy with the the tank.

Any updates on your tank? I am thinking of purchasing this same set up. How did you install your ATO reservoir to work with the tunze?

I like the fact that this system comes pretty much plug and play any pros/cons on it?
