I just got a reef octopus 150int and the box included a metric to English adapter and I can’t for the life of me figure out where it’s supposed to go. Does anyone have this skimmer running with the adapter? Or is this from some standard accessories kit and not actually meant for the model I have. The instructions don’t mention this piece.

It is used only if you need to adapt the skimmers pipe it to longer pipe and you are in the USA

That makes sense. Thanks

I just picked up the same skimmer from another reefer, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is supposed to be an o-ring in the base of the skimmer body. I took it apart today, and there appears to be an o-ring grove there, but no o-ring. The exploded parts view of the skimmer on RO's website doesn't show one, so I'm guessing it doesn't need it.

I assume you are talking about the space saving one with the internal pump since I didn't see a way to open the bottom of mine. My old space saving skimmer did not have an o-ring the seal the bottom. The screws hold it closed enough but water leaks out if you take it out of the water.

Mine is the normal one - pump on the outside. It does appear to be a pretty tight fit between the body and the base. I haven't run it yet, but I'm going to assume that a small amount of leakage there isn't going to affect performance at all.
