Hey all,

Would love some advice on my protein skimmer please. The old pump on it was tripping my outlet, casing was being intruded by water. Got a new pump today.

Been running for two hours and I have the discharge valve wide open. Do I need to maybe put a valve on the airline to adjust air intake? This is what it is doing.

It should settle down, it most likely reacting to factory film on the pump. If you have the Classic 150 you may have gotten the wrong pump, the AQ- 2000 is what comes with the new Classic 150's. The other thing could be that the original pump may have been in such bad shape that the new pump could be making more air and now skimmer is working better, but you should look into the pump model. You could also try adding some Carbon it may help settle things down quicker.
