I have one of these in my sump and am not sure how to dial it in. I have the water in the sump at the proper level (per reef octopus instructions). I also know you should wait until it is broken in before you truly dial it in...but what do you set it on in the meantime? Does it matter? I had it set at "min" and it just bubbles like crazy and water pours out of the top. I set it around 3 or so and it still bubbles like crazy, but at least water isn't pouring out of the top.

I have the 150 alive it but think my pump is on its way out after a little more than 2 years. Does that model have a ball value or something to control water flow if so that is how

Mine did the same thing. It took about 24 hours to "calm down" and not immediately fill the cup. I just let it run.

After 3 or 4 days, I was able to get it dialed in exactly how I wanted it...tweaking a little over those 3 or 4 days.

Hope this helps a little.
