Reef Octopus BH2000 HOB Skimmer users-chime in.

I just bought a BH2000 skimmer based on reviews that said it was quiet. I didn't expect it to be silent but it is LOUD! Everyone mentions the sound of the air line but I can't hear anything over the pump. Coralvue customer support said it should get quieter by the day as it breaks in. Is this true? Have any of you had the same noisy pump issue and did it quiet down?
I took the pump apart and didn't see anything obviously wrong with the impeller or shaft, I wonder if I have a bad pump.

I have a reef octopus bh 1000 skimmer and it is quite, I mainly hear the air and that's it. I hope you get it straightened out.

The only time my pump made a noise, is when my anthias got sucked into the impeller.

Well, I guess the Coralvue guy was right, it did quiet down after a week and a half. Still not as quiet as I would like but it's at least tolerable with some strategically placed foam. I plan on continuing to soundproof it.
