Question looking to buy one of these Reef Octopus BR-70 or Vertex Rx-U 1.5L as a
BioPellet Reactor.

I'm leaning more to Vertex Rx-U 1.5L do to room to grow.

I didn't need pump for either and they are both very suitable
for my needs.

Need any PRO or CON on either any input.

It's hard to find people that are using the Vertex Rx-U 1..

Thank you in advance for any info.

Go with the vertex, better brand, better build quality. You wont regret it.

The SRO BR-Series reactors are specifically designed for bio pellets and is one of the few brands we recommend for use with ECOBAK and ECOBAK PLUS.

The BR-Series reactors use a parabolic dispersion plate in the bottom that encourages an upward lift to gently fluidize pellets.

The Vertex reactor is a universal media reactor that can also be used with GFO, GAC or anything else.

Thank you for that info I honestly thought you can use any type bio pellets on the BR-Series.

As for the Vertex reactor dose anyone out there have any con to it or pro.

Just want to make sure that the MONEY is well spent.

THANK YOU guy's for the input.

Of course, you can use any brand of bio pellets in the BR-Series reactors. But we, as the manufacturers of ECOBAK bio pellets recommend several reactors because of their exemplary performance and the BR-Series works very well. I'm also looking at the line of reactors from Marine Biosystems... they may also be very good.

I have the Vertex Rx-U 1.5L and I like the Unions used. This makes it easier to add and remove media as required Plus the high Quality of the Valve included as well. Con: Finding 7/8" ID tubing to connect it with. 3/4" ID is tough to go on,but will work.

I totally understand some products just work's will with others.

The right combination is key in this hobby.

Can you just go to Homedepot or Lowe's change it to 1/2 ?
