On my new 120, I’m running a Reef Octopus skimmer and for the last month, it’s done nothing but spew microbubbles. No skimmate. Just bubbles. Initially I chalked it up to it being a new tank. But I grew frustrated.

Tonight I had a moment of clarity.

I took off the white cap to the silencer tube and noticed that the air intake was pushed all the way up and against the cap. It was barley getting any air!!

I pushed the tube down a bit and instantly the skimmer stopped spitting out bubbles and is now functioning perfectly!

For those of you that have had similar issues, check your air intake line.
