Ok if I cut about 4 inches off the red control tube would it cause any problems? My reason for wanting to do this is my limited height under the stand. Cutting 4 inches would make it so much easier to remove for cleaning etc....

The tube is that length to control water volume in the Skimmer chamber. I fear by shortening it you would not be able to retain the water volume and height inside the chamber.

I may try it anyhow. Love the skimmer but the dang tube is about 4 inches to long

Sorry, but I didn't think the red tube went above the collection cup. So I don't understand how height is a problem.
Can you cut the tube and add a gate valve to control the bubble height.

It doesnt come above the cup but the collection cup comes off and is easy to put back on once the body is in the sump. Gate valve might be a good fix if i do have problems.
