Reef Octopus Classic 150sssbnot bubbling properly?

My reef octopus is all of a sudden not working properly. The bubbles are more like a boiling and burst quickly. The only thing I can think is yesterday I took the cup out and gave it a good clean could that have affected it? If so then what good are neck cleaners?

Checked the venturi?(where the air mixes with the water) They sometimes can be blocked with calcium buildup, and often cause the issues your seeing.

Its clean. The skimmer was running great 2 days ago. I’m thinking my cleaning of the cup did something and it needs to break in again. But then I don’t understand the purposes of neck cleaners if me cleaning the neck caused it to be needed break in.
