REEF OCTOPUS CLASSIC 2000 HOB review?

I have the same skimmer and starting to get annoyed. Have to deep clean it once a month almost, in order to keep the pump going strong.

Depending on my mood, I'll detach the pump and run in vinegar or soak the whole skimmer.

Is there anything better I can do? Considered buying a spare pump to swap out and use interchangeably

I have a 2000 and I am having startup over flow issues. Some you have made comments that removing the cup and removing the inlet 90 out outlet 90 may help to prevent the over flow. Has this continued to work.
