reef octopus classic 90 HOB skimmer stopped making air bubbles? Any clue how I should fix this.

Check for salt creep in the venturi... where the airline and pump meet.

-_- I was trying to take it apart to check and clean everything and the impeller shaft is as brittle as a stem on a dried fall leaf! it snapped with almost no pressure when trying to pull the impeller out. Any clue how I should get a replacement or if I could just pop the ends of the impeller shaft off and make a new shaft? Or is the material crucial.... Is it maybe covered under a warranty their website is sloppy...

Any clue why they make them out of ceramic? Would it be problematic do you think, if I made a shaft out of a different material that's harder to snap...?
