Reef Octopus Diablo XS 160. Any Good?

I'm looking to upgrade skimmers at some point. The major problem is the area i have available for the skimmer in my sump.

I just found the Reef Octopus Diablo XS 160 ( Reef Octopus Diablo XS 160 Protein Skimmer - Bulk Reef Supply ) that would fit the chamber of my sump and appears to be a real work horse.
Anyone use one of these or have any first or second hand knowledge on if these are worth the money

I have heard good things about them. Look at the Vertex skimmers...they are the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

I've been using it for a couple of months now on a 75 gal. It is doing a nice job. Not loud, well built and easy to set up and dial in.

I have looked into the Vortex Skimmers...the problem is they have too large of a foot print for the area in my custom sump.

I have a Bubble Magus nac 6. Small foot print and works great

I have an Octopus Extreme with a Sicce pump. Although Octopus skimmers are not the most efficient skimmers according to a study published on Advanced Reefkeeping Online magazine, it does a decent job with a red diablo replacement needle wheel. Sicce pumps are not silent. I hear a constant hum from the pump. The replacement needle wheel increased the sound from the silencer slightly as well.

Have you consider Avast marine works Cs-1 cone skimmer? It is supposed to be a very good skimmer. It also has a since pump but a much higher capacity one. (Good for 50 to 200G)

Anything i get will be better than what im currently using. I'm currently using a nearly 5 year old Coralife Super Skimmer. Its not a horrible skimmer but it requires constant tweaks to water level and the Venturi connection keeps getting clogged with calcium deposits every 5 days

I have an ASM G-1X on my 60. It is rated for 150, but I went for overkill. I choose it because it fit in my sump, but it was more a height issue than a footprint consideration. I like it because it is EASILY adjustable initially, not dependent on water level in the sump, and I have not had to make an adjustment for months. Also, as the effluent is routed through and easily cleanable sponge, micro bubbles are kept to a minimum.

is the ASM G-1X noisy? My either G2 or G3...cant remember which was a bit noisy.

i use a hydor slim skim which seems to work really well im my particular application, i didnt want a huge skimmer and built my own sump so i designed it around that one. my tank is only a 45 with a 20h sump, i have a fuge in my sump with chaeto and rock and only keep 4 fish so aggressive skimming was not really a concern of mine.
