Reef Octopus Elite 150 or 200

I'm trying to put together a tank and wanted some options on which skimmer might work best. The tank is 133 gallons (Red Sea Reefer 625xxl) which I've paired with a Trigger Systems Sapphire 39, total system volume of about 173 gallons. I'm trying to choose between either the Reef Octopus Elite 150-INT or the Elite 200-INT. I'm thinking of going with the 200 because I could always turn in down. Curious what others might do. Thanks!

I have the 150 on 125 total gallons, run the skimmer varios speed at 3 out of 5.
Medium fish load, 2 frozen cubes plus nori plus pellets daily.

Obviously skimmer size depends on several factors - primarily bio-load and everyone has their opinion. on the "best" way to run a skimmer and even what skimmer to run. IMO between those two options I would go with the 200. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I have the RO 200 Regal with the newest DC pump, I also have a Simplicity 240 DC skimmer, I wanted to give my RO 200 Regal a try so I put it in my 120-gallon tank DT only, I would get about a finger wide every week with it, it was too big for my 120 I have 4 large fish the size of my hand in the tank, I know that is why I have a BNIB 225 gallon tank in my garage hence the reason for the RO200 Regal. So i put the Simplicity back in, by the way, it looks like a toy compared to the RO.

Well, I was dumping the cup every 9 hours for the first 2 weeks, I guess it had a lot of work to get caught back up.

So I would recommend the RO 150 model for your tank.

Go with the 200. I have the 150 with 120g total volume, heavy bio load. It works great, and is perfect for my tank, but save yourself the need for an upgrade down the road.
