Hello

I bought the Elite 150INT for a 100G with a 30G sump but i changed my mind and bought 130 Gallon with a 44 Gallon sump. I have not set it up yet waiting to buy more items. Will this be enough or should I sell it, its new still in the box and get the 200?
I am guessing my bio-load will be medium but not sure of high but it could be. I have plenty of space in the sump to go bigger.

I like to oversize my skimmers if possible, so I would return it and go bigger if you have the room (and buy a NYOS ;)) That skimmer is rated at 150 gallons (which you are over)........if you believe their ratings, it would be undersized. I am sure it would be fine though if you wanted to keep and use it.

I would probably use it. They rate the 200INT at 200 gallons heavy load which seems too big. Keep in mind your 175 gallon setup will only have about 130 gallons of water.

Waters, returning is not an option, its been sitting in my closet since Dec 2017. Buying little by little. I would have to take a money hit selling it here.

Potatohead, I like your thinking lol it will save me alot of money. But you are correct didn't think about the rocks taking up volume. Thanks

When choosing a skimmer you only include the volume of water that contains the bioload. So at 130gal you are still well within the range of handling for your skimmer. I feel the 150 was actually too large for your previous system and will be a great fit for for your new system.

Thank you Jeremy, didn't know it's only tank volume.

@Jeremy@CoralVue one last question. This could be a dumb question but I am not sure. Never had a DC skimmer pump. Do you run it at full speed?
