Reef octopus elite 200 vs vertex omega 200

just looking for opinions and preferences between these two for a 180 gallon mixed reef that runs bio pellets and has a couple NPS gorgonians. ( I feed a lot).

Because I had a reactor already and didn’t want to buy anothe dosing pump for the nopox. Just lazy and cheap

Copy that... I swear by NOPOX, pellets are hit and miss and they aren't as efficient IMHO.

I would use a Vertex 180 Omega on a 180 gallon tank, that is a very well balanced skimmer.

I have a reef octopus elite 220 on my 255 and I love it. 355 total volume.

I have never been able to keep both nitrates and phosphate in check with one product until nopox came along.. Pellets never worked well for me personally, plus I was tired of my sump being so cluttered..
Carbon dosing works wonders, there are a lot of articles out there about it.. I would educate yourself before employing it though, it can get ugly if you aren’t careful...
