Hey guys, I have a reef octopus 150ext skimmer, I'm in a tight space and need to eliminate one part of the skimmer drain to sump, that part is the included tee acting as a vent . What is this vent and do I need it? Can I just drill a hole in 90 in the Sump?(it's above water).. my system is currently off while I'm doing this...

Thanks

edit* Sorry, I thought this was internal, after looking more Im not sure the purpose of that stack, most likely some sort of venting. maybe someone else can offer a better idea if that is needed.

If you are talking about the pipe sticking up off of the output line, it is not mandatory. I believe it is a siphon break. I have a 250ext and redid all the skimmer output plumbing without the brake.

Gotta pick up my daughter from day care but it's done:)) having three DC pumps so many wires :((( gotta tackle that this weekend
