Is it safe to put the outside the tank mounting magnet that comes with the Pulse 2 in my overflow box, where it would be wet?

It is just the best place for me to mount the pump.

Thanks

Is the outside magnet coated like the inside magnet?

Dude! I remember you from RC from way way back. Great to see you still around.

The magnet appears to be coated the same, but I am not 100% positive. Like the magnet is covered completely and it appears to be the same material, I just wanted to double check. I wrote to Coral Vue but haven't heard back either.

I've been here quite a while and part of the Reef Squad for a couple of years now.

I'd just use it and keep an eye on it for the first couple of months, as in check it once a week. When they start to leak and rust, they really don't do any damage unless you ignore it until it gets really bad. I have a big magnet I coated with epoxy and use it in the overflow to hold a big leather coral up. It's been in there a year and I check it every time I do a water change (every 2 months on average).

I personally coat a questionable magnet with epoxy to assure no rust
