Okay so the box says for in sump but i dont have a sump, could i mount this on the wall or hang on back? I got all the tools such as hose, clips, etc. I dont get this whats the difference when they say for in sump only or wall mounted, hob, etc. Can it be done without a sump without causing trouble? Thanks, can i just use it without a sump? Im confused

"All-in-One fluidized media filter kits have everything you need but the media itself for you operate. Comes with feed pump, hoses and all fittings required for use. Capable of hanging over rims as large as 1"."

Looking at the unit however I don't know how comfortable I would be with hanging it over the tank. I personally would not do it because of the weight of the unit putting pressure on the rim. As far as running hoses from your tank to the unit that would work but you might have to get a bit stronger pump to account for the head loss you would experience.

A lot of these companies make claims on what there product can do, and all the R and D has been based off of using it a certain way, so you may also lose some of the performance of the unit used in a different manner.

I do know there are other companies that make the same unit, able to hang of the back, or even able to attach to the wall. Bulk Reef Supply is one of those places.

Hope this helps!

The box feels so light though... with water it weighs just like a reef octopus bh2000 hob skimmer should i still be worried?

Honestly, No, because it says that it is capable of doing it. Just follow the directions and you should be good to go.

I personally am not a fan of hanging stuff on the tank, but I understand some don't have the sump option so you have to do what is needed. Directions say you will be good, so go for it!!!

Happy Reefing!!!
