Reef Octopus Octo Pump 2 Magnet

Does anyone know if the magnet intended to attach to the outside of the tank is sealed?

I would love to attach this pump to my overflow box which would put the outside magnet, inside the water.

If it is not sealed, how hard is it to seal?
