Well I need some advice fellow reefers. I run my RO dnw-200 external. It doesnt fit in my stand. I came home today on july4 to a wet carpet. What can I do to prevent the skimmer from overflowing. Is there a waste collector with auto shutoff that is compatible with my skimmer. Any ideas are helpful. Thank you

You could drill a hole in the collection cup. Use a tap to thread the hole. Add a fitting to the threaded hole. Run a hose from the fitting, to a collection container. Use a float switch inside the container, near the top, to control a relay, that will shut off the skimmer if the container gets full. This would be a lot like an auto top off set up, that is inside a sump. Just cut one of the wires on an extention cord, to install the relay inline. Get a relay that is normally on, if power is applied, but will stop power to the skimmer if the float switch is activated. Hope that helps, that is my best idea. You could also put the skimmer in a catch box, so that it would catch any overflow, unless it was more than the box could hold.
